Your home has a large plastic wheeled garbage can and a large plastic wheeled recycle bin.  Recycling in the City of Olympia is not a choice, it is a requirement.  Please be sure that you are in compliance with the recycling rules (see link below).

Garbage and recycle are picked up on alternating weeks.  Thus, if your pickup day is Wednesday, they will pick up recycle on the appropriate pickup day (per the pickup schedule) and garbage on the next Wednesday.

We make every effort to assure that your garbage or recycle bins are out according to the appropriate pickup schedule.  If you are living in 2103 Beacon Ave SE, your pickup day is Wednesday.

All of the other homes have a Thursday pickup day.

It has proven to be easier to place these bins out the evening before, since the pickup is so early in the morning.  So, everyone (except Beacon) should place their bins out before retiring on Wednesday night.  Beacon, place yours out on Tuesday night.

Also, alternating the position of the recycle/garbage bins provides an easy way to remember which bin is "next".  When placing the current bin out, be sure that you scoot the "next" bin to the "up front" position.

We are conscientious about our tenants' busy and demanding lifestyles, and, thus, have a habit of placing the bins out before our tenants have had a chance to.  However, if we do miss, we hope that you will notice and help us out.  (So far we have a 100 percent record)

Please familiarize yourselves with these rules regarding what can and cannot be recycled in the City of Olympia.
